A Family, A Story,

a New Nation.

Synopsis

A Mexican fiction series that narrates the saga of a family during the 18th century fragmented by the prevailing “legitimacy” and “illegitimacy”; a family whose ideas and passions intertwine, over time and generations, with the din of the War of Independence, and culminate in the turbulent years of the Mexican Revolution.

The Minondo is the story of  the daily lives of the people, seen through everything that is happening to this family whose members are well-known personalities of the clergy, politics, the elite… Spanish, Creole and Mexicans of the time. Thus, the presence of Spain in Mexico, the mestizaje, the acculturation in Catholicism, the transition from Creole patriotism to nationalism, the dispute over the earth, segregation, repression and assimilation of modern thoughts, are the fabric in which Los Minondo will fight to survive, showing the diversity of the social mosaic of Mexico over three centuries. The fate, secrets and intrigues of these three characters and their offspring, will lead us through crucial events in the history of Mexico and allow us to reconstruct their social and cultural implications.
