The deepest horror is the one that dwells in our minds
Sofía is an ancient and nomadic being who, through generating fear in her philosophy classes, manages to maintain her beauty and immortality. Arriving in a new city, Sofia contemplates for the first time sharing her immortality with someone, Mara, a young woman with terminal cancer. While the rest of Sofia's students fall under the spell of their stories, nourishing her with their fear, Mara flourishes. His twin, Bruno, fascinated by everything Sofia causes and makes him feel, steals an ancient book from him. In doing so, Sofia falls into an accelerated degenerative process, and with her, Mara, ever closer to death. Sofía confesses her secret to Bruno: yes, fear feeds her, but it's the stories she writes in the book that keep her alive. Sofia wants to live the way she wants Mara to live. Bruno returns the book, amazed at Sofia's rebirth, and now he longs for eternal life, not for Mara, but for him. Their ambition and Sofia's obsession with Mara bring them to a point where only the sacrifice of one will give life to the others.
